Curious about scuba diving but not ready to commit to a certification course? This experience is designed especially for beginners, families, and adventurous travelers who want to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the very first time.

Your adventure begins when a professional dive instructor will introduce you to the scuba equipment, teach you basic diving skills, and help you become comfortable breathing underwater in a relaxed environment. Planning your dive at Blue Heron Bridge? Here are a few of the most common questions to help you make the most of your experience.

Can anyone try scuba diving?

Most people can! However, certain medical conditions may require approval from a physician before participating. During the booking process, you'll complete a brief medical questionnaire to help determine if scuba diving is appropriate for you. If you answer "Yes" to any of the medical questions, you may need written clearance from your doctor before your dive. If you're unsure, feel free to contact us—we're happy to help you determine the next steps.

Is scuba diving safe for beginners?

Absolutely! Your adventure begins in our private on-site pool, where a professional instructor will teach you the basics and help you get comfortable before heading into the ocean. Throughout the experience, your instructor stays with you every step of the way, making safety the top priority.

Do I need to know how to swim?

You don't need to be an expert swimmer, but you should be comfortable in the water and able to follow your instructor's directions. We'll start slowly in the pool so you can build confidence before your guided ocean dive.

Do I need a scuba certification?

No certification is required! Our Try Scuba Diving experience is specifically designed for beginners who want to discover scuba diving for the first time without enrolling in a certification course.

Where will I practice before the ocean dive?

You'll begin in our private on-site pool or in the shallow waters right from our beach, where you'll learn basic scuba skills, practice breathing underwater, and become familiar with the equipment in a calm, controlled environment before heading to Blue Heron Bridge.

What will I see underwater?

Every dive is an adventure! Blue Heron Bridge is famous for its incredible marine life, including colorful tropical fish, rays, octopus, seahorses, starfish, sea turtles, and many other fascinating sea creatures. No two dives are ever the same!

How deep will we dive?

This beginner experience typically stays in shallow water, around 12 to 15 feet deep. Your instructor will adjust the dive based on your comfort level, water conditions, and the group's experience.

What should I bring?

Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure! We'll provide the scuba equipment, and you'll receive a confirmation email after booking with everything you need to know before your dive.
